Nomination Rules
- The crossing over awards are a community project. Therefore, only those that held active TtH accounts before nomination started may make nominations; if you have joined TtH since then, I'm afraid you will have to wait until next year.
- In all cases, to be nominated, the story must be published on TtH. You will be asked to provide a link to the fic, series or author's profile you are nominating.
- You cannot nominate your own work.
- Winning stories from previous rounds cannot be nominated, even in a different category.
- In most categories:
- Only stories, ficlets and poetry can be nominated - fan art / essays are not elligible.
- Stories must be complete.
- You may nominate the same fic in more than one category.
- Some categories allow you to nominate a single chapter of a story, such as best FFA or best Drabble. Due to technical limitations, we can only accept one nomination per story per category. Therefore, if two people nominate different chapters of the same story for the same award, only the first one will be kept. Similarly for best original character, if two people nominate different original characters from the same story, only the first one received will be voted on.
- Round-robin stories (those with multiple authors) are not elligible for nomination. Such stories have an unfair advantage when it comes to voting, as we permit authors to vote for their own story, and also would cause technical issues with the site.
- Nominated authors must accept their nomination; therefore, your nomination may not be included on the list of those to be voted on. If the author makes the decision before nominations close, you will be able to nominate a different fic.
- Those users with multiple accounts may only nominate from one account. If we have reason to believe a user is nominating from multiple accounts, we may choose, at our discretion, to discount any nominations from either account.
Rules for Nominated Authors
- You must accept each nomination for it to be voted upon. You may wish to wait until nominations close before doing so if you think there is a possiblity another one of your stories may be nominated in the same category. If this happens it is your choice how many you accept.
- You must check that your nominated work meets the requirements for the category in which it is nominated. If it does not, you must refuse the nomination.
- Editing completed stories for spelling/grammar is encouraged and will not disqualify them. However, adding new chapters before voting closes will do so if the category is for completed works only.
Voting Rules
- The crossing over awards are a community project. Therefore, only those that held active TtH accounts before nomination started may vote; if you have joined TtH since then, I'm afraid you will have to wait until next year.
- You can vote for your own works.
- You do not have to make all your votes at the same time, You can come back at any time during the voting round to change or make more votes.
- Midway through the voting round, we will apply a cut. After this time, only the five nominees with the most votes at the time of the cut will remain eligible for voting. If a there is a tie for fifth place, we will include any tied nominees, unless there is a large number of them, in which case we may elect to reduce the cut.
- If the nominee you voted for makes the cut, your vote will be automatically carried over into the second stage of voting. However, you are free to change it to another nominee that made the cut if you want to.
- If the nominee you voted for does not make the cut, you will be allowed to make a second vote for one of those that did.
- You do not have to cast a vote in every category. Please remember you are voting for the fic, not how much you like the show/film/book etc. nor how good a friend the author is. We ask you to at least start reading all the fics in a category before voting.
- If a fic you nominated is not included in the voting, it is likely due to an incorrect nomination or the author not accepting.
- Those users with multiple accounts may only vote from one account. If we have reason to believe a user is voting from multiple accounts, we may choose to discount all votes from all such accounts.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask them at the forums.
